Beginning the first week in January, Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville will offer prenatal yoga classes. Classes will be led by a yoga-trained Perinatal Fitness Instructor. The gentle stretching and toning exercises help prepare pregnant women’s bodies for delivery and aid in recovery after delivery. No previous yoga experience is required. A physician or midwife must sign consent prior to starting class. Classes will be held Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. in the hospital’s learning centers. Classes are $5 each or participants can purchase five classes for $25 and receive the sixth class for free. Registration is required. To sign up, call 1-877-284-2000.

The Plum Senior Community Center’s program coordinator is the linchpin of the center, according to Nina Segelson, executive director. This person is responsible for creating and running organized, well-received events and classes, promoting those activities, and fostering connections among and the entire Plum community, she said.
