Oakmont Man Sentenced to One Year in Prison for Failure to Pay Taxes

Louis Lamanna has been convicted on several tax charges.

An Oakmont resident will go to jail for failure to pay almost $1 million in taxes. Louis Lamanna has been sentenced in federal court to 12 months and three days imprisonment followed by three years of supervised release on his conviction of three counts of willful failure to pay taxes, according to U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton. United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab imposed the sentence on Louis Lamanna. According to information presented to the court, Lamanna willfully failed to pay federal income taxes for tax years 2006, 2007 and 2008, resulting in a total tax loss of $925,145.34. Law Enforcement Makes Progress in Pitt Bomb Threat Investigation, Local Students Speak Up

David J. Hickton, United States Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania, said "significant progress" in the Pitt bomb threat investigation has been made.

Local University of Pittsburgh students and employees have been dealing with numerous bomb threats since February. Nearly two months later, the daily occurence is becoming a distraction, and everyone involved is hoping for a resolution. David J. Hickton, United States Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania, issued a statement today, Wednesday, on the bomb threats that have been disrupting the Pitt community. "We have made significant progress in the investigation into the bomb threats made against University of Pittsburgh facilities," Hickton said in the statement.
