Verona Dunkin' Donuts Robbed at Gunpoint

The incident occurred early Monday morning.

The Dunkin' Donuts along Allegheny River Boulevard in Verona was robbed at gunpoint early Monday morning. According to police Chief Ron McLemore, a young black male—about 5'2 or 5'3 tall—who was wearing all black clothing and had a handgun stole an undetermined amount of money from the business. Sweet Local Deals for National Donut Day

Grab a sweet treat on the way to work to celebrate the day!

It seems like there is a special day for just about everything, and the donut is no exception. National Donut Day is Friday and in honor of their big day, donut shops across the nation—including many in the Pittsburgh area—will be offering deals. National Donut Day, celebrated on the first Friday of June each year, was originally established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to honor women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I. Dunkin' Donuts locations across the nation—including the one on Allegheny River Boulevard in Verona—will be giving out a free donut with the purchase of a beverage (hot or cold), according to their Facebook page.
