Kayla Hoffman faces up to 10 years in jail and 15 years of probation.
A New Kensington woman has been sentenced to jail and probation following a February 2012 fatal car accident on Verona Road in Penn Hills—close to Verona Borough. On Monday, Kayla Dawn Hoffman, 29, was sentenced to five to 10 years in jail after an accident that killed 25-year-old Kayla Johnson-Ukeyne, according to court documents. Hoffman has been serving time at the Allegheny County Jail since Feb. 26, 2012. According to the Tribune-Review, Hoffman also has been sentenced to 15 years on probation with weekly drug testing. Christine Beilstein of Plum was killed in May after a car accident in Penn Hills.
A Point Breeze man has been sentenced to jail after pleading guilty to several charges stemming from a May 12, 2012, car accident in Penn Hills that killed a Plum woman and injured her young son. Duane Woodson, 51, is facing 5 to 10 years in prison, according to court documents. In October, he pleaded guilty to charges of vehicular homicide while driving under the influence, aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, vehicular homicide, aggravated assault by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, driving under the influence with a suspended license, driving with a suspended license, two counts of accidents involving death, two counts of accidents involving death while not being properly licensed, three counts of driving …

A White Oak teenager died after an turnpike accident on Saturday.
A 19-year-old victim has been identified after a fatal accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike early Saturday morning. John Light of White Oak died almost immediately after a one-vehicle accident on the turnpike in Plum, near the Plum-Oakmont service plaza along mile marker 49, according to the county medical examiner's office. According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Light lost control of his Chevy pickup truck while traveling eastbound just after 1 a.m. Saturday. His truck struck the median, and Light was ejected from the vehicle and hit his head against the turnpike wall. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Light was a 2011 graduate of McKeesport Area Senior High School. The cause of the accident is still under investigation. …

I agree with Sue we have a lot of problems with the legal system here in Allegheny County and we should show up at the Allegheny County meetings and tell all those wealthy reps. that we need to have some changes made! Elections coming and thats when they open up to suggestions but record their answers because they forget what they said just to get back into office.   more ›
