The Powerball jackpot was boosted to $600 million, or a $376.9 million cash prize for the Saturday, May 18, drawing after none of the tickets sold Wednesday matched the winning numbers. The multi-state mega-lottery had rolled to a $475 million value after Wednesday's drawing, but increased by $75 million Thursday afternoon as a result of strong ticket sales, according to thePennsylvania Lottery. Two $1 million jackpot lottery tickets were sold.
Someone in the Plum-Oakmont area could be $1 million richer after a winning Powerball jackpot ticket was sold in Monroeville, according to the Pennsylvania Lottery. Sheetz at 2100 Mosside Boulevard in Monroeville sold one of two winning tickets from the Saturday, May 11 lottery drawing. The other ticket was sold in Chambersburg, Franklin County. The two winning Powerball tickets each correctly matched all five white balls, 06-13-19-23-43, but not the red Powerball 16, to win individual prizes of $1 million, less 25 percent federal withholding. Each retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling a winning ticket. Lottery officials cannot confirm the identity of either winner until each prize is claimed and each ticket is validated. …
