Vacancies on several boards in Plum and Oakmont were filled this week.
Plum and Oakmont officials appointed volunteers to several borough boards and commissions this here. Here's a look at who was appointed: Plum Planning Commission—Robert Zunich and Ron Gancas. Zoning Hearing Board—Sonny Tresco. Vacancy Board—Dave Majernick. Appointments to the Library Board will be made in February. Oakmont Civil Service Commission—William Miller. Highlights from the Oakmont Borough Council Meeting on July 9.
In addition to the hiring of Lisa Cooper Jensen as the new borough manager, Council discussed other items at Monday's meeting. Here's a roundup of items discussed: Contract Awarded for 2012 Paving Projects Council awarded Tresco Paving Corporation the contract to pave multiple roads in Oakmont throughout the rest of 2012. The company's bid of $209,625 for the projects was the lowest bid received. Maple Lane Discussions Councilmember Tim Favo said Tresco Paving Corporation would also be asked to provide an estimate for future work on Maple Lane, a road that has been discussed over the last several meetings.
