The Plum, Oakmont and Verona area is under a freeze warning from 1 to 8 a.m. Tuesday. The National Weather Service predicts temperatures may dip into the 20s overnight. The weekend forecast looks much warmer.
Warmer temperatures are on the way after Pittsburgh experienced a record low temperature Thursday morning. The National Weather Service in Moon Township recorded an unofficial low temperature of 19 degrees at Pittsburgh International Airport at 6 a.m., which broke the record low of 20 degrees in 1954, according to the Post-Gazette. Locals woke up to a late blast of spring snow this morning. The most intense snow accumulations—about 3 to 5 inches total—are expected this morning, before diminishing.
