Police Officers Hired in Oakmont

Borough council hired two part-time police officers this week.

The Oakmont Police Department has two new part-timers. On Monday, Oakmont Council hired police officers Robert Acquaviva and Christian Baker. Acquaviva is a University of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County Police Academy graduate, and Baker is a Penn State grad and U.S. Army veteran. Police Chief David DiSanti said he is pleased with the two officers chosen to work in Oakmont. "We wanted to make sure we got the cream of the crop," he said. Oakmont Police Reports: Assault, Retail Theft, Broken Business Window

Here are the Oakmont police reports for March 6 to March 19.

The following incidents were reported to the Oakmont Police Department. Information was obtained from call logs and police reports. Assault Adam Lohr, 23, of Oakmont was charged with simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment after an incident on March 17. Micah Spencer, 31, of Oakmont was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct after a March 13 incident along Hulton Road. Retail Theft Barbara S. Chaffo, 51, of Murrysville was charged with retail theft on March 12. She is accused of stealing items from Ambiance Boutique. Broken Window A patrolman found that the Exhale Yoga window had been shattered on March 9. The window was boarded up and has since been replaced. Burglary A Sixth …

Oakmont Police Reports: DUI, Accident & Theft

Here are the Oakmont police reports for Feb. 20 to March 4.

The following incidents were reported to the Oakmont Police Department. Information was obtained from police reports and call logs. DUI Maria Rose Lucjak, 22, of Oakmont was charged with prohibited acts, driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and careless driving following a Feb. 24 accident on the 700 block of Hulton Road. Lucjak is accused of crashing her car into a pole. Accident Police responded to a one-vehicle accident on the 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue Feb. 24. According to police reports, a 91-year-old motorist was attempting to back into the handicap parking spot in front of the Oakmont Carnegie Library when she accelerated forward and crashed into the bushes in front of the neighboring residence. …

The following incidents were reported to the Oakmont Police Department. Information was obtained from police reports and call logs. Burglary A burglary was reported on the 1000 block of Hulton Road on Feb. 7. Prohibited Acts Jessica Deborah Devita, 26, of Verona was charged with speeding, display of registration plate and two counts of prohibited acts on Feb. 6. Fraud A Fifth Street resident reported fraudulent activity on two credit cards on Feb. 12. The investigation was turned over to county police. Here are the police reports for Jan. 16 to Jan. 29.

The following incidents were reported to the Oakmont Police Department. Information was obtained from police reports and call logs. Theft Sherman S. Jones, 35, of Brighton Heights was charged with retail theft. Police filed the charges on Jan. 16. The theft of a semi-trailer bulkhead on Valley Street was reported on Jan. 28. Criminal Mischief A Penn Hills resident reported that her vehicle had been keyed and her tires were slashed in the rear parking lot of Presbyterian SeniorCare along Hulton Road on Jan. 25. The following incidents were reported to the Oakmont Police Department. Information was obtained from call logs and police reports. Assault Michael Anthony Painter, 25, of Clairton was charged with simple assault and endangering the welfare of children after a Jan. 11 incident on Greer Way. Burglary A burglary was reported on the 800 block of Hulton Road on Jan. 9. Theft About $265 worth of cigarettes was reported stolen from Rite Aid on Allegheny River Boulevard on Jan. 14. The following incidents were reported to the Oakmont Police Department. Information was obtained from call logs and police reports. DUI A Plum man is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a Dec. 29 accident. According to police, a vehicle crashed into a utility pole on the 400 block of Tenth Street. Charges have not been officially filed against the driver. Assault A Penn Hills man is accused of assaulting a bouncer at a local bar. According to police, the 26-year-old man punched the bouncer at the Oakmont Tavern on Dec. 30. Oakmont Man Charged with Child Pornography

Here are the Oakmont police reports for Nov. 28 to Dec. 9.

An Oakmont man is in jail and facing multiple child pornography charges. Mark C. Loney, 30, of Riverside Drive has been charged with disseminating photo/film of child sex acts, child pornography, selling obscene/sexual materials and criminal use of communication facility. According to court documents, Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges against him on Dec. 11 after an incident on Nov. 1. Oakmont police assisted state police in issuing a warrant for Loney's arrest. Loney currently is being held in Allegheny County Jail. His bail was set at $75,000, and as of Thursday night, he was unable to post bail. Oakmont Police Enforce Turning Restrictions

Police have increased patrols at Wade Lane and Advance Way.

Oakmont police are urging motorists to follow traffic rules when is comes to turning restrictions. Police Chief David DiSanti said officers have stepped up patrols in the areas of Wade Lane and Advance Way. Motorists are prohibited to make a right turn onto Wade Lane from Hulton Road, and DiSanti said officers have been issuing citations in the area for those who don't obey the traffic law. "It's a danger to the children in the area and causes congestion at the traffic light," he said. Officers also are enforcing no left turns from Advance Way onto Allegheny Avenue.
