The Tom Cruise movie partly filmed in Oakmont last year will premiere in Pittsburgh on Dec. 15.
Pittsburgh will play host to the premiere of a Tom Cruise movie that was filmed in several local communities, including Oakmont, last year. "Jack Reacher," originally named "One Shot" after the novel the story is based on, will premiere at the SouthSide Works Cinema on Dec. 15. According to a report from WPXI, Tom Cruise and co-stars Robert Duvall and Rosamund Pike are expected to return to Pittsburgh to attend the premiere, which is the first film premiere Pittsburgh has hosted in several decades. A portion of the movie was filmed in Oakmont last December on Eleventh Street between Hulton Road and Virginia Avenue. The new Paramount Pictures movie "One Shot" is filming on Eleventh Street in Oakmont today. It's not clear if the movie's stars Tom Cruise, Robert Duvall and Rosamund Pike are on set. The movie, which is set to be released in 2013, is being filmed in the Pittsburgh area. A catering truck for the crew is located at St. Irenaeus Church along Maryland Avenue. An Eleventh Street home in Oakmont will be the set for "One Shot" cast and crew on Monday. The location producers of the new movie—featuring Tom Cruise, Robert Duvall and Rosamund Pike—chose to shoot at 850 Eleventh Street. Parking restrictions on Eleventh Street between Hulton Road and Virginia Avenue will be in place from midnight to 10 p.m. on Monday. An Eleventh Street resident has told the Plum-Oakmont Patch that neighbors received a notice stating filming will occur from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. No word on whether Tom Cruise or any of the film's major stars will be on set.
