Investigators have a suspect in custody in the abduction of infant Bryce Coleman, who was taken from Magee-Womens Hospital Thursday afternoon.
After searching for more than three hours, Pittsburgh Police have located a 3-day-old boy who was abducted earlier today from Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC in Oakland, police spokeswoman Diane Richard said. Police also have one person in custody in connection with the abduction this afternoon of infant Bryce Coleman, Richard said in a statement. "The baby has been located . . . and is en route back to Magee to confirm that it is the (abducted) baby," Richard said She did not release any other information but said more details would be "forthcoming" from police. Area police departments are rolling out sobriety checkpoints and extra DUI patrols this weekend.
With all the events happening in and around Pittsburgh this weekend, area police departments want everyone to have fun—but they also want to keep everyone safe. The Plum Police Department sent out a message via Nixle asking all residents to refrain from drinking and driving. According to the note, 379 people died in alcohol related crashes last year in Pennsylvania. The Castle Shannon police department, in conjunction with the Mt. Lebanon Area DUI Task Force, will increase efforts to find impaired drivers. They also are reminding drivers and passengers to buckle their seatbelts. Up to $5,000 is available to anyone who has information about the missing Bridgeville man.
A month after Jimmy Slack disappeared from a concert in Pittsburgh, his family is increasing the financial reward available to anyone who has information about the missing Bridgeville man. “Any lead is a good lead,” said Maureen Shields, who is Slack’s sister. “We’re still at this. We’re not giving up.” The family decided to increase the reward from $1,000 up to $5,000 in an effort to get any information that might help them find the 25-year-old Bridgeville resident. Slack went missing on Dec. 7 after attending a String Cheese Incident concert at Stage AE on the North Side. Pittsburgh police officers spent six hours Thursday scouring the North Side and nearby riverbanks with cadaver dogs and plan to expand their search for Jimmy Slack using rescue boats Friday. Lt. Daniel Herrmann, an investigator with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police’s missing person’s unit, said investigators have no new leads in the Bridgeville man’s disappearance, but are still holding out hope that Slack might be found alive. “We’re still looking,” Herrmann told Chartiers Valley Patch. “Our plans are going out with a river rescue boat to examine the banks all the way down to McKees Rocks. Detectives from the Pittsburgh Police Missing Persons unit are seeking information about a teen whose family last saw her Friday in the city's East End. Shahada Bray-Garner, 16, might be in Washington, PA, detectives said. She is black, stands 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 190 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. Police do not have a photograph of Shahada. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact police at 412-323-7141.

Pittsburgh Police today are looking for Raymont Pope, a toddler from the East End who they say has been missing for two days and may be with his biological father, Radford Pope. Raymont, 1, weighs 27 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen Wednesday morning on Bennett Street in Homewood and now may be in the East End or Wilkinsburg, police said. His father also uses the name Arthur Lee Pope Jr., city detectives said. Anyone with information about Raymont's whereabouts is asked to contact the Missing Persons unit at 412-323-7141 or police headquarters at 412-323-7800.
