Plum Police Chief Back On Duty

Chief Frank Monaco was on medical leave.

Plum Police Reports: Drugs, DUI, Burglary

Here's a look at the police reports for the week of Jan. 15 to Jan. 22.

The following incidents were reported to the Plum Police Department. Information was obtained from incident reports and call logs. DUI Donald Ray Cyphert, 32, of DuBois was charged with endangering the welfare of children and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a Jan. 1 incident on Coxcomb Hill Road. Dave John Hill, 31, of Creighton was charged with careless driving, accidents involving damage to property, immediate notice of accident to police and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a Jan. 1 accident on Unity Center Road. Jessica Marie Burns, 25, of Greensburg was charged with drivers required to be licensed, driving with a suspended license…

Plum Police Reports: Jewelry Store Burglary, Criminal Mischief, Assault

Here are the Plum police reports for the week of Jan. 8 to Jan. 14.

A Plum jewelry store was burglarized last week. On Jan. 6, Plum police officers were dispatched to Joseph Anthony Jewelers on Saltsburg Road just before 10 p.m. for an alarm activation. According to the police report, forced entry was made through the business' only door, and theives smashed multiple glass display cases, taking about $2,000 worth of jewelry. Police are continuing the investigation. The following incidents also were reported to the Plum Police Department. Information was obtained from call logs and police reports. Assault Patrick James Robbins, 30, of Westminster, Md., was charged with simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment after a Jan. 1 incident on Ligonier Lane. Plum Police Reports: Assaulting Officers, Theft, Burglary

Here are the Plum police reports for Jan. 2 to Jan. 7.

The following incidents were reported to the Plum Police Department. Information was obtained from call logs and police reports. Assault A Plum woman faces charges after being accused of assaulting police. Alexis Monique Hall, 28, of Plum was charged with reckless driving, driving at an unsafe speed, failure to stop at a stop sign, two counts of endangering the welfare of children, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, three counts of resisting arrest and three counts of aggravated assault. According to the police report, officers were called to Maple Street for an incident involving Hall. Here's a look at the Plum police reports for Dec. 18 to Jan. 2.

The following incidents were reported to the Plum Police Department. Information was obtained from call logs and police reports. DUI John David Kuglmaier, 34, of Plum was charged with aggravated assault while driving under the influence, driving on the wrong side of the road, reckless driving and three counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after an Oct. 27 accident on Logans Ferry Road. According to police, Kuglmaier is accused of crossing the road median, hitting a guiderail and then striking another vehicle. Plum Men Accused of Throwing Uncle Through Bar Window

Here are the Plum police reports for Dec. 10 to Dec. 18.

Two Plum residents are accused of getting into a fight with their uncle at a local bar and throwing him through the window. Plum police have charged Domenic Ricciuti Jr., 33, and Johnathan Michael Ricciuti, 28, with aggravated assault, criminal mischief and harassment. On Dec. 7, police were called to the House of Big Dogs on Boyce Park Drive for a fight. According to police the men got into an argument with their uncle and it turned physical. Then, they pushed him through the front plate glass window of the bar. These incidents also were reported to Plum police. Information was obtained from police reports and call logs. Plum Teen Faces Charges After Breaking Into Elementary School

A local 18-year-old caused $5,000 worth of property damage, according to Plum police.

A Plum teenager faces several charges after being accused of breaking into a district elementary school. Plum police have charged Justin Kane Hourigan, 18, with burglary, theft, vandalism and underage drinking. According to a police report, Hourigan broke into Adlai Stevenson Elementary in the Holiday Park section of the borough on Dec. 8. Police were dispatched to the school after the security alarm went off. When police arrived, they found two broken windows and detained Hourigan. Police accuse the teen of ransacking multiple classrooms and drawers, and smashing several computers on the ground, causing about $5,000 worth of damage. Plum Police Chief Takes Medical Leave

Chief Frank Monaco will be out for a few weeks.

The Plum police Chief is taking some time off due to an undisclosed illness. According to the Plum Advance Leader, Mayor Rich Hrivnak confirmed Chief Frank Monaco is ill and will be out for a few weeks. Lt. Jeffrey Armstrong will direct the daily operation of the police department. At Monday night's Plum Council meeting, Council President Mike Doyle asked borough residents to keep the chief and his family in their prayers during a routine moment of silence. Four Injured, Two Flown to Hospital After Vehicle Accident in Plum

Plum police are investigating a four-vehicle accident on Greensburg Road.

About four people have been injured after a four-vehicle accident in Plum on Wednesday afternoon. Plum police and emergency crews were dispatched to the accident on Greensburg Road at about 3:30. According to Plum police Sgt. Jay Kapusta, four vehicles and eight people were involved in the accident. Kapusta said a vehicle traveling southeast on Greensburg Road hit another vehicle, lost control and struck a second vehicle, then rolled over and hit a third vehicle. About three of four people sustained injuries—two with serious injuries were flown to area hospitals by helicopter, according to Kapusta. The ages of the people involved in the accident range from 20s to 60s. They are from Kitanning, New Kensington, Texas and Czechoslovakia. …

Plum Woman Accused of Drinking Beer Through Straw While Driving

Here are the Plum police reports for the week of Nov. 27 to Dec. 3.

Plum police have charged a woman with driving under the influence of alcohol after finding an open can of beer with a straw in her car during a traffic stop. Diana D. Broadnax, 55, of Plum was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, false identification to law enforcement, habitual offenders, driving without a license, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving too slowly, restrictions on alcohol beverages, operating a vehicle without official certificate, driving without a seat belt and two counts of driving with a suspended license.
