Local jewelry designer Robert Currens is embracing the royal jewels craze in response to future queen of England Kate Middleton's ring.
Local jeweler Robert Currens is taking cues from England's crown jewels. Currens, of the new Oakmont jewelry studio, Robert Currens Jewelry Design, has created designs based on future queen of England Kate Middleton's blue sapphire engagement ring that once belonged to Princess Diana. All the buzz surrounding Middleton's engagement to Prince William has been inspiring jewelers like Currens to cater jewelry designs toward traditional British gems. Currens is working on a custom ring modeled after Kate's engagement ring. The famous ring is a large oval blue sapphire surrounded by 14 round diamonds set in 18 carats of white gold.
