If you're in the mood for a night out, consider heading to the Riverview Community Action Corp.'s fundraiser dance. The Oakmont senior center is hosting "Moon Over Motown," featuring the music of The Pittsburgh Doo Wop Big Band. The event will be held on Friday, March 1, from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Futules Harmar House, 1321 Freeport Rd. in Cheswick. The cost is $20 per person before Feb. 20 and $30 per person after. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. Cost includes dinner, dessert, dancing and a cash bar. There also will be Chinese auction items. Here are some Oakmont events for your consideration! Parents Night Out Need a kid-free night? Saint Irenaeus School is planning a Parents Night Out on Saturday, Jan. 14, from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Parents can drop off their child/children to the PLEC building, located on Fourth Street, next to St. Irenaeus School. For $10 per child, they will be supervised. Parents are asked to provide dinner for children prior to dropping them off or preparing something for them to eat. The school's eighth-graders will donate their time and expertise to provide an entertaining afternoon, filled with a movie, games, and crafts as part of a service project. Oakmont Chamber of Commerce's December Networking Lunch also will serve as a toy drive. The lunch will be held Thursday, Dec. 15, at noon at Carnivores Restaurant and Sports Bar. Doors open at 11:45 a.m. The chamber is collecting new, unwrapped toys for the Riverview Community Action Corp. Christmas toy drive. Anyone who makes a donation will receive an extra door prize ticket. The cost to attend the lunch is $15 per chamber member and $18 per non-chamber member. Those who attend are welcome to bring business cards, brochures and fliers to share with other business members.
