RHS Goes Red for the American Heart Association

February is American Heart Month, and these local students are doing something special to create awareness.

February is American Heart Month, and students at Riverview High School are hosting a special event to promote awareness and school spirit. On Friday, Feb. 8, students will be holding a "Red Out" event during the Varsity Boys' basketball game against Springdale. Senior class officers and the student council teamed up to plan the event. They have been selling red T-Shirts from the American Heart Association for $10 to raise money for the organization. Anyone who buys a shirt can get into the game for free. Erin Lauff, senior class officer, said the school has held a blood drive in the past, but students wanted to do something more inclusive. Anthony Malky, senior class officer, agreed.
