The following incidents were reported to the Verona Police Department. Information was obtained from police Chief Ron McLemore. Theft A theft was reported on Feb. 23. A theft was reported on Feb. 27. A theft was reported on Feb. 29. A theft was reported March 1. A theft was reported March 8. Criminal Mischief Police received a criminal mischief complaint on Feb. 29. Police received a vandalism complaint on March 3. Counterfeit Police responded to a business at the Rivertowne Plaza after reports of counterfeit money on Feb. 24. Suspicious Activity Suspicious activity complaints were reported Feb. 23, Feb. 24, Feb. 28, March 1, March 3, March 5, March 8 and March 9.

The following incidents were reported to the Verona Police Department. Information was obtained from police Chief Ron McLemore. Robbery Police continue to investigate a robbery that occured on Dec. 28 on the 700 block of Second Street. A Vocelli Pizza delivery driver reported being robbed at gun point by white man wearing dark clothing. Stolen Vehicle Police received reports of a stolen vehicle on Jan. 1. Disorderly Conduct Police received reports of a disorderly motorist on Allegheny River Boulevard on Jan. 1. Police responded to a disturbance on Church Street on Jan. 6.

A motorist lost control of her vehicle early Wednesday morning.
A woman lost control of her vehicle on Wednesday morning, sending it down a Verona hillside near the war memorial. Verona police and the Verona Volunteer Fire Department responded to the incident near Allegheny River Boulevard and Lamagna Drive/Seldon Avenue just after 8 a.m. Police Chief Ron McLemore said the driver lost control of the vehicle and plummeted down the hillside, but she was not hurt. Julian Rydeski, 94, of Oakmont, died Wednesday afternoon due to injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle at the Verona Giant Eagle parking lot on Sunday.
The Oakmont man injured after being hit by a motorist at the Verona Giant Eagle died Wednesday afternoon. Julian Rydeski, 94, of Oakmont, died at 3:33 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. He was surrounded by family, according to his granddaughter, Angela Braun. According to Verona police Chief Ron McLemore, Rydeski had been walking across the crosswalk in the parking lot when he was struck by a motorist. McLemore said charges are currently are pending for the 27-year-old driver. This is the second time in a little over a month—and third time this year—that a pedestrian has been struck by a vehicle in Verona. The victims died in all three incidents. The victim is a 94-year-old man.
A 94-year-old man was hit by a vehicle at the Verona Giant Eagle parking lot late Sunday morning. According to Verona police Chief Ron McLemore, the man was walking across the crosswalk in the parking lot when he was struck by a vehicle. The man was said to have arm trauma and was conscious and alert. McLemore said he was transported to UPMC St. Margaret and has some broken bones. Police will be issuing citations to the driver of the vehicle, McLemore said. This is the second time in a little over a month—and third incident this year—that a pedestrian has been struck by a vehicle in Verona. Students showed their appreciation to police for keeping them safe.
On Monday, members for the Verner Elementary School Student Council presented police officers with a 'Thank You' poster signed by all of the students at Verner. The poster was to honor police officers who helped during a school lockdown last week after an international fugitive shot at FBI and police during a more than three-hour standoff.

An accident occurred at the Verona Post Office just before 4 p.m.
A car accidentally crashed into the Verona Post Office on Allegheny River Boulevard just before 4 p.m. Monday afternoon. No one was hurt. Verona police Chief Ron McLemore said a motorist accidentally put his car in reverse and crashed through the building. The motorist won't be charged because it was an accident, he said. The area where the crash occurred currently is blocked off with caution tape. McLemore said the area should be secured by this evening. A spokesman for the postal service did not immediately return phone calls requesting comment. Check back for more information.
