Pennsylvania State Police said a man serving time for aggravated assault checked himself out of a Pittsburgh hospital to escape custody. Inmate Kenneth Gray, 24, of Pittsburgh, was serving a sentence at the Pittsburgh-based Renewal Corrections Center when he was taken to an unspecified UPMC hospital for medical treatment, said state police spokeswoman Trooper Robin Mungo.
