Signs placed on Logans Ferry Road by residents concerned about speeding have prompted police to step up enforcement efforts.
Plum police are cracking down on speeders along Logans Ferry Road this week. Earlier this month, WTAE-TV reported that some neighbors on the street through Holiday Park street posted signs in an effort to get drivers to stop speeding by posting signs that say: "Hit my kid or dog because you're speeding, you won't need a lawyer. Speed limit 25." One resident told WTAE that some drivers go as fast as 40 or 45 mph on Logans Ferry, which is often used as a cut-through to get around Route 286. This week, the Plum Advance Leader reported that Plum police officers conducted traffic enforcement activities on the road periodically from June 18 through 25 and will continue the effort until motorists begin to slow down. PennDOT crews will perform base repairs and patching on local roads this week, Nov. 7 to 10. Crews will be patching Coxcomb Hill Road in Plum from Hulton Road to Kerr Road. Base repairs will occur on the following roads: PennDOT advises motorists to use caution, slow down and anticipate changing traffic patterns, lane closures and possible delays when traveling through the area. PennDOT also reminds motorists they can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions and cameras on major roadways before traveling.

Tahoe Drive is terrible. I have to walk my kindergartener up the hill to get the bus and the cars fly up and down the hill. There aren't even white "walk in" lines. They have all faded. It wouldn't make a difference, cars would still get too close and go way to fast. I almost got hit a few times. I also have to be very careful when I get my mail so I don't get hit.   more ›
