Mild Temps, Showers Expected Early This Week

With these temperatures, it's hard to believe we're in December.

Is it really December? Plum, Oakmont and Verona residents can expect some very mild temperatures on Monday and Tuesday. You won't have to bundle up for a few days, but have an umbrella handy. Here's a look at the National Weather Service's forecast for our area. _______________________ Plum-Oakmont Patch is on Facebook and on Twitter. Riverside Park Ice Skating Season Ends Before Ever Beginning

The ice rink has been at the Oakmont park since December, but it never opened to the public.

For the first time, Riverside Park in Oakmont offered ice skating as a winter activity for residents—but no one had an opportunity to use the rink. The Oakmont Recreation Board purchased the ice rink this year and installed it in December. Because of very mild temperatures this winter, the ice never set completely and the rink never opened to the public. The rec board is seeking volunteers to help disassemble the rink on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 9 a.m. Anyone interested in helping should stop by the park. For more information, email oakmontrecreation@gmail.com, or see the recreation board's Facebook page/website.
