Visions for Vacancies: Former 314 Pasta & Prime

The former Oakmont restaurant is up for rent.

About a year after opening, 314 Pasta & Prime restaurant in Oakmont has closed. Chef Dave Racicot, owner of the restaurant and the former Notion restaurant at that location, is reopening Notion at 128 S. Highland Avenue in East Liberty some time this month, according to the Post-Gazette. What should go in this location? Another restaurant? Something different? I would sure love to have a good coffee shop (i.e. not starbucks). At least a local chain if not independent. The one that used to be next to PNC was very nice, I miss them. It seems a tricky business to run a coffee shop well... we probably don't need a place with goofy gimmicks (e.g. no tie-dyed walls please), just comfort, quality, availability (open in the evenings please!), and a range of …   more ›
