Penn Hills police, firefighters responded to an accident on Plum Street Tuesday night.
A vehicle collided with a home and tree on Plum Street—right at the Oakmont/Penn Hills border—Tuesday night. Penn Hills pollice and firefighters from Penn Hills Volunteer Fire Department station 224 responded to the accident just after 10 p.m. According to fire officals, the vehicle's driver lost control on the wet road and collided with a house. _____________________ Plum-Oakmont Patch is on Facebook and on Twitter. Legislation designed to strengthen current parole restrictions for repeat violent offenders, and championed by state Rep. Tony DeLuca, D-Penn Hills, passed in the state House of Representatives earlier this week. House Bill 645 creates additional parole restrictions for repeat offenders of violent crime, according to DeLuca, whose district covers Plum and Verona boroughs. "The legislation provides that a person convicted of a second or subsequent violent crime would not be eligible for parole until he has served at least 85 percent of the maximum sentence," he said. Sometimes you repeatedly cross paths with people, not knowing their names, but still exchanging a nod or pleasantries as you pass. For Nancy Monahan, who runs the Pennsylvania Missing Persons website, Dominick Brown-Hill was one of those people. She remembers saying "hello" to him on occasion as he walked near her home in Penn Hills. And then he vanished. "Boy, it just makes you think—a stranger you might see is suddenly gone," Monahan said. Brown-Hill was last seen Thursday, March 22, on Althea Drive in Penn Hills, not far from a home where he had been staying. Gloria Rittiger, 17, of Penn Hills has been missing since Feb. 27.
Penn Hills police are searching for Gloria Ivanna Rittiger, 17. They are classifying Gloria as an "endangered runaway." She has been missing since Feb. 27. According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Gloria is 4-foot-9-inches tall and weighs 90 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes and is biracial (white and Hispanic). Gloria might be in the company of an adult male, and they might be traveling in a maroon Chevrolet Impala.
