Have Extra Candy? Donate it to Troops Via Saint Irenaeus in Oakmont

The local catholic school is collecting extra Halloween candy to send to the troops.

Saint Irenaeus School Student Council has partnered with Operation Gratitude, a non-profit corporation, to send extra Halloween candy to military heroes this year. The Oakmont school will collect any extra unopened candy on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 5 and 6, during all school hours. Operation Gratitue annually sends 100,000 care packages filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation to U.S. Service Members. Saint Irenaues students have also spent time creating "Thank You" cards and letters to send with the candy. Student Council advisor Keith Gillis said he hopes to collect three to four bozes worth of candy to donate to Operation Gratitude. St. Irenaeus in Oakmont to Host Night at the Races Event

The event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11.

Join Saint Irenaeus School in Oakmont for a night of fun, food and races. Saint Irenaeus' Night at the Races will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:15 and the races begin at 7. The cost of $20 in advance and $25 at the door includes food and a beverage. There will be 10 races run with 10 horses in each race. Horses are $10 each, and winners receive $25. Anyone who can't attend still can buy horses and win.
