New police car, new public works truck and sewer repairs were among the items discussed.
Here's a roundup of items discussed at the April 10 Verona Council meeting: New Police Car Mayor Dave Ricupero said the police department would get a new Ford Explorer. Ricupero said a $15,000 grant received with the help of state Rep. Tony DeLuca (D-32) will expire in June. That amount will be used to pay for a portion of the car this year. Next year, the borough would be responsible for about $12,093. The police department most likely will retire its Jeep. New Public Works Truck Officials have agreed to purchase a new public works truck. The total cost of the truck is $70,000 and includes all the equipment needed for the department, including for snow removal. The borough has a $20,000 grant for the purchase of the truck.
