Congratulations to Somma!
For the past week, we’ve asked you to take our poll, add reviews and tell us which restaurant in the Plum-Oakmont Patch area is the most family-friendly. It was a close race, but Somma Pizza in Plum took the lead today and won! Somma received 48 percent of the votes; Uncle Buckles in Plum came in second with 39 percent; and 314 Pasta and Prime in Oakmont came in third with 12 percent. Congratulations to Somma! Dine out nights and Zumba events will benefit local charities.
Fundraisers benefiting the Sunny Carney Carcinoid Cancer Fund and Tanner's Troopers are upcoming. Two businesses in the Plum-Oakmont area will be donating a portion of proceeds these local charities. There also will be a Zumba event at Oblock Junior High this weekend. Zumba A Zumbathon fundraiser will be held at the Oblock Junior High gym on Saturday, March, 3, from noon to 2 p.m. The cost is $10, and proceeds will benefit the Sunny Carney Carcinoid Cancer Fund and raise awareness about carcinoid cancer. Sunny Carney is a Plum resident who currently is battling cancer. Everyone is asked to wear black and white to support the cause. The Riverview Music Department is sponsoring a “Dining Out Deal” on Monday, Nov. 7. From 5 to 10 p.m., Somma Pizza in Plum will donate 10 percent of guests’ bills to the Riverview Music Department Spring Trip funds. Patrons must present the attached flyer to their server to make the donation to Riverview. They can also name a specific student member of the Riverview Music Department, and the money will be donated directly into their Spring Trip fundraising account.
