ReplyWhere is Advance Way in Oakmont? Is making a right turn from Hulton onto Wade prohibited all the time or just during morning rush hours?

ReplySince the campaign contributions are a matter of public record and easily accessible though the Plum-Oakmont Patch link, we feel good that even though our political sign was taken from our yard, our neighbors were able to recognize that Pa supported our candidate. Thank you Pennsylvania.

ReplyAssigning blame to just about any tragic event is part of the grieving process and an attempt to make an illogical situation "logical." Accidents usually are not logical, they are unfortunate "twists of fate." My compassion goes out to this child's parents who will carry their grief for the rest of their lives; there is no need to condemn anyone.

ReplyI got "chills" and waves of joy watching this performance. The Riverview Band and band administration definitely have a sense of humor; unfortunately it sounds like the Target manager does not. What better place would there be for a well-supervised, creative and talented group of young people to be on a Saturday night by turning a disappointing evening into an impromtu community event? Next time, try the old Giant Eagle parking lot in Oakmont. We love out young people!!! I may have to boycott Target or send a letter of complaint. Way to go, Riverview!!

I DO get it. I work as an independent contractor and do not get paid unless I go to work. I served six weeks on a civil case when a high powered law firm, who expected to collect 1/3 of the settlement for 24 solicited litigants who claimed they were effected by asbestos. I was paid nine dollars a day for my "civic duty" which I completed and lost wages doing it.

ReplyAre they eliminating jury duty for citizens along these routes, too? The daily rate to serve doesn't nearly cover the cost of parking downtown and one can hardly carpool. Citizens are told to use pubic transportation to decrease their out-of-pocket expenses while perorming their "civic duty."

An all around good guy for Verona Boro; always very visible in emergencies an keeping everyone safe. He was one of the men, who when growing up in Verona, made you feel safe and secure in your bed at night. If the fire whistle went off, you trusted Red would lead the men to get the job done. Condolensces to his family.
