Wendy Lieb Schapiro started her college career as a Theater Arts major at Brandeis University. She quickly realized she had a thin skin and questionable talent and transferred to Brown University where she earned a BA in Education. She also has master’s degrees from Harvard Graduate School of Education and Lesley University and sometimes substitute teaches in local independent schools. Right now, Wendy writes the “Newton in the Kitchen” column for Newton Patch as well as the occasional human-interest story. She loves to cook, bake, and play with her three cats (not at the same time, though, as this leads to furry food). Wendy is the parent of two wonderful teenagers and says that she would spend time with them even if they weren’t her kids. She is very excited to be covering the vibrant, ever-changing restaurant scene in Newton and loves to write about food, recipes and kitchen gear.
