Sure it Glows, but it Tastes so Good
The trick of making Mountain Dew glow by mixing it with peroxide and baking soda is a hoax, but some people seem to think it's cool. WHY would you want to drink it if it GLOWS!?

One of my friends posted something on Facebook about throwing peroxide and baking soda into a Mountain Dew bottle that’s a quarter full makes it glow. The write up said “just don’t drink [all the Mountain Dew]” and you’ll have something for late nights camping or at the beach.
Thank God, this isn’t true.

My first thought was “doesn’t anyone see anything wrong with this?”
With most of the comments being “cool” or “My son/daughter will love this!” on websites and other postings, I guess not.

How can that be? How can someone’s reaction to the possibility of something they’re putting in there body GLOWING with a few simple ingredients be cool or something their kid would enjoy?
“Little Johnny, hurry up and drink most of your Mountain Dew so we can make it glow!”
Are we really not thinking this much about what we’re ingesting? Is this kind of this really OK?
True, this is a hoax, but what about the flame retardant in orange soda pop? That’s true!! Are you still drinking it?
What’s it going to take to get people to give up stuff that is proven to contain chemicals and other ingredients that WILL harm us? Why aren’t people running from the soda pop aisle???! Is it really that good?
